Our Process for Commercial Marble Floor Polishing

A dust controlled, repeatable method for lobbies, corridors, and common areas. We protect surrounds and signage, use progressive diamond honing to remove wear and etches, manage slurry and neutralization, then polish to your target sheen with careful edge and threshold detail.

1. Walkthrough, protection, and safety

Confirm marble type and condition, protect adjacent finishes, place signs, and plan access and staging for elevators and entries.

2. Diamond honing to remove wear

Use the correct sequence of grits, for example 220 to 400 to 800, to level micro scratches and etch marks and restore clarity.

3. Slurry containment and neutralization

Capture and remove slurry, rinse with controlled water, and neutralize so the surface is clean and ready for polishing.

4. Polish to the desired sheen

Select matte, satin, or high sheen. Work in thin, even passes to build a uniform reflection without a plastic look.

5. Edges, thresholds, and final QA

Detail corners and transitions, groom and wipe, then walk the site to confirm uniform appearance and give walk ready timing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about commercial marble floor cleaning, honing, and polishing in South Florida.

Cleaning removes surface soil and light residue. Honing levels micro scratches and etch marks using diamond grits to restore clarity. Polishing refines the honed surface to a chosen sheen such as matte, satin, or high gloss for a uniform look.

Yes. We use progressive diamond honing to remove shallow etches and fine scratches, then polish to an even finish. Deep gouges may require localized repair before honing.

We can finish marble to matte, satin, or high gloss. Satin is a popular choice for lobbies because it balances reflection with easier maintenance. We will recommend a sheen based on lighting, traffic, and safety needs.

The process is dust controlled. Slurry is contained and removed, areas are masked and protected, and equipment noise is kept to reasonable levels for evening or overnight work.

Light foot traffic is typically allowed shortly after the final wipe once the surface is clean and dry. We provide walk ready guidance at the end of the walkthrough based on site airflow and humidity.

Yes. Night and weekend scheduling is available so spaces are ready before opening. We coordinate elevator pads, cones, and signage as needed.

When appropriate, we apply a penetrating impregnating sealer to help resist staining. It does not add gloss and is different from topical coatings. Suitability depends on marble type and use patterns.

Typical schedules are every 6 to 12 months for most corridors and lobbies. High traffic or abrasive soils may require touch ups at 3 to 6 month intervals.

We protect adjacent finishes with masking and barriers, pad elevator entries, guard thresholds and baseboards, and place signs to guide foot traffic.

Pricing depends on square footage, condition, access, desired sheen, and scheduling. Projects start at 2,000 sq ft. We provide a written quote after a site assessment and can supply a certificate of insurance on request.
